Given Ed Ellis' background and work history, it is no wonder he wanted to have a non-profit consulting firm to help cities, counties, states and disaster related groups plan and prepare for disaster response situations so they can respond efficiently and effectively leading to a more rapid recovery phase for citizens in need.

Ed served as the HUD Disaster Coordinator for Regions VI – X until his retirement from HUD. Ed was responsible for the coordination from HUD Headquarters to the five HUD Regions; and, worked with State and Federal partners regarding to disaster preparation, response, and recovery activities.

 

2011 – 2017 he served as the Field Office Director, for the HUD Knoxville, TN Field Office. As the Director, he was responsible for the HUD programs in the Knoxville and jurisdiction. He represented HUD Region IV as the point-of-contact for all elected officials.

2006 - 2011, he served as a Disaster Coordinator for HUD Headquarters and was responsible for Regions IV, VI and VIII. 

Other positions with HUD include, Field Office Director for the Greensboro HUD Office, five years in the Fort Worth, Region VI HUD Office working on a Fair Housing Litigation Court Case, covering 36 East Texas Counties and 80 Housing Authorities. 

1996 - 1999, he worked for the City of Fort Worth as a Housing Program Manager. Responsibilities included the implementation of the First Time Homebuyers Program. In addition to the City, he worked eight years for non-profit housing developers, four of those years as the Executive Director. 

Ed is a graduate from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington (GoSeahawks!), and received his Masters Degree from the University of Texas – Arlington (Go Mavs!) in 1985. He holds a NC Builder Contractor’s License, along with Real Estate Broker License from North Carolina and Texas.

 

He has also served in multiple leadership roles in many communities: Texas Junior College Teachers Association; Board of Directors of the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition; Saint Mary’s Catholic Church; and the Rotary Club of America.

Ed believes in God, Country and firmly believes in the old adage "Proper planning prevents poor performance!".
